  COURSE STRUCTURE

Your passport to adventure and the underwater world awaits you. We aim to provide the highest level of training, and that starts with our small class sizes (maximum student-instructor ratio of 6:1) and highly-trained instructors.

We offer both e-learning and instructor-led options for the knowledge development phase of your certification. This course is executed in three sections:

  • eLearning/Classroom

  • Confined Waters Training

  • Open Water Check-Out Dives

SECTION 1: ELEARNING: AT HOME STUDY / Classroom

Learn the language During the first phase of your PADI Open Water Diver scuba certification you'll develop an understanding of the basic principles of scuba diving. You learn things like how pressure affects your body, how to choose the best gear and what to consider when planning dives in order to have fun while staying safe.

Your study resources are included in the PADI eLearning program which can be taken at your own pace, anytime, anywhere. The five knowledge development sections at the end of each one of the five chapters must be completed prior to your classroom session. Once you are done with your independent study, call us to book your classroom and confined water sessions.

Theory: Cover 5 Knowledge Reviews, 4 Quizzes and a Written Exam.

SECTION 2: CONFINED WATER SESSIONS

During your confined water session, you’ll get to learn how to set up your diving equipment, clear your mask of water, hover and several other essential and fun skills. The skills learned in confined water sessions will prepare you to dive in a variety, either pool or open-water environments, shallow water. Your tuition includes all of your rental gear such as your exposure suit, your BCD, and your regulator; but we do encourage new divers to own some of the more basic setup: such as your mask, snorkel, and fins. It's more fun, more comfortable, and more conducive to efficient learning when you have a mask that fits your face perfectly! If you don’t already own these, you can purchase them from our wide array of top-notch gear at our online shop in products when you come by to check in with us.

Max 5-6 hours in the pool or 2 half days sheltered bay with shallow water to learn the basic skills.

SECTION 3: OPEN WATER CHECKOUT DIVES

During this portion of your training you finally get to go to the ocean and dive in Hong Kong waters! It is spread over two days of diving, each day consisting of two checkout dives! You take all of the skills you’ve learned in the classroom & confined water and apply them to real-life conditions. Once you’ve successfully demonstrated your skills in the ocean over the four dives, you are ready to receive your certification card
